Systems engineering and local public health
The purpose of systems engineering and local public health project is to develop ongoing partnerships with the local health departments within the Southern Piedmont Partnership for Public Health (SPPPH) to assist in the research to translation process of models related to the implementation of pandemic influenza vaccination clinics. In this project, county health departments and NCSU will work together to modify, validate, and refine an existing mass vaccination model (i.e. proof of concept) to provide a series of enriched simulation models specific to each participating county’s pandemic influenza vaccination efforts and their related clinic configurations. *Clinic configuration in this context includes details about the layout, flow, and number and type of resources utilized.
