UNITY in Communities: Building Healthy Opportunities Conference June 5, 2009

A collective community approach to Northeastern North Carolina Health Disparities

On June 5, 2009 in Williamston, NC, the UNITY in Communities conference will be held and is available to interested individuals free of charge. The purpose of this day-long conference is to bring together people in the Northeastern North Carolina region to share strategies for building collaborations between communities to help face the challenges ahead.  

This conference features Barbara Pullen Smith and a keynote address by the Rev. Calvin Ellison PhD, ND, CNC, chairman of the Community Empowerment Network; Pastor of the Oasis of Hope Church, Farmville, NC.

Key workshops will be:

• Faith-Based: Addressing Health in Faith Based Communities
• Political: Working Cooperatively with Political Leaders
• Youth: Youth Empowerment & Health
• Community: Public Health & Community Collaboration

When? Day-long conference to be held in Williamston, NC at the Senator Bob Martin Agricultural Center on June 5, 2009.
